This article provides instructions for offline activation for old unsupported licenses using the legacy licensing system. If you're on the current licensing system (which most users are), please refer to this article instead.
You can use offline activation to activate products when your computer doesn't have an internet connection or your internet connection does not allow SOAP requests.
You'll need access to another computer with an internet connection so that you can transfer the installer over on a flash drive.
- Launch the product you wish to activate
- Visit http://localhost:22221/redgate/status.html
- Under Recently connected products, next to the product you wish to activate choose 'Activate using fallback'
- Enter your serial key and the activation will fail (if you have no internet connection)
- Now you have the option to activate manually
You can then manually activate the license - here's some step-by-step instructions.
NB: Make sure you leave the original window with the request text open whilst you generate the response text, then paste in the response.
Finding your serial key
As serial keys are no longer required for license activation in most cases, they’re no longer prominently displayed in the customer portal. To locate your key, please log in to the portal, go to the Licenses tab, and switch to the old licensing view:
Then click on the tool you want, and you'll see the serial numbers tab:
Offline activations will show in the customer portal as device ID xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx.
