Under the license user list in the Redgate portal, you might see an alphanumeric device code (i.e. 0B98-C649-2D3A-4C52) instead of an email address. This is an anonymous activation that isn't associated with a users Redgate ID and has been activated using a serial number or manually (legacy activation methods) instead of logging in with a Redgate ID.

For user based (desktop) tools, these serial allocations will be using up entitlements and should be transferred over to user-based entitlements.

User based (desktop) tools or capacity based tools

If you're seeing the 'All entitlements claimed' message when you try to activate a tool, the license owners and admins have the ability to remove the anonymous activations to free up the entitlements for new users. It's not possible know what server the license was activated on, or by whom, because there's no user information if a license is activated in this way.

SQL Backup & SmartAssembly

For server based tools (SQL Backup, Redgate Monitor and SmartAssembly) you should expect to see device codes instead of Redgate IDs because they're not tied to users.

SQL Backup is licensed per server and will record an entry in the portal anytime that serial key is activated against a server.

SmartAssembly is licensed per build machine and similar to above, will record an entry in the portal whenever the tool is activated on a machine.

Redgate Monitor activations

Serial key activations in Redgate Monitor display in the customer portal as a device code:

And redgate.com activations display the server name:
