Ahhh I see what you mean now. Yes that does make sense.
It's something I've constantly looked at and been like "am I happy with it like that?" The problem is it's hard to see what a good default behaviour would be but I certainly think we need to look into it more. There has to be a way to switch between servers with less intrusion.
Thanks for your feedback though, it's logged! / comments

Currently this is the default behaviour but I'll certainly take a note of your feedback.
I can see it possibly being a bit confusing if it changed to the same database on a different server. How would you feel if it just chose the first database in the list on the new server as opposed to master?
What do you mean by having the server selected before the database?
Thanks for the feedback! / comments

Ah ok, do you have an install without the German MUI?
If so and you can try it on that I would appreciate it. If not then I've added this to the buglist and we'll try and look at this as soon as we can.
Sorry you can't get it working [image] / comments

Currently I'm afraid SQL Search does not work with non-english base language installs of SSMS although this is something we're looking to fix before release.
Apologies but thanks for the feedback / comments

Ok, definitely going to take a look at this today. I think it's probably a bug so thanks to everyone for reporting this. / comments

Hi and thanks for reporting this.
I'm a bit worried that it crashes your SSMS as this is something that should never happen. Could you list me some system details?
SSMS version
Operating System
Do you get an exception when it crashes? Does it just crash straight away when loading in or when you perform a particular action?
Thanks / comments

Possibly! Or it could be your computer behaving because you were watching it!
I think we need to take a look at how the installer runs with different user account levels as it's something we haven't really looked at in the installer testing (people with db access are always admins right? )
Thanks for the feedback though, I've logged your issue. / comments

It populates the list based on what searches you've done. I think in the long run we'll probably have to look into background processing of the indexing part. At this time maybe populating that box with all open connections would be more feasible.
Is an all server search something that alot of people would be interested in? Let us know! / comments
