After installing SQL Prompt or after an update, you may encounter this error:
This error can be caused by a corrupt file within the SQL Prompt system folder. Resolving this usually requires a reinstallation of SQL Prompt.
Please, can you try the following:
- Uninstall SQL Prompt
- Navigate to %localappdata%\Red Gate\ and take a backup of the SQL Prompt folder
- Once you have a backup of the whole SQL Prompt folder, delete the original SQL Prompt folder
- Reinstall the latest version of SQL Prompt from here: https://download.red-gate.com/checkforupdates/SQLPrompt/
- Once you've reinstalled SQL Prompt, and verified that the error is now resolved, you can move the Styles and Snippets folders within the backup you took for the SQL Prompt folder in %localappdata%\Red Gate\
- As well as Styles and Snippets, please copy across the SQLHistory.db file (you may need to replace the existing one as a new one would have been created when installing after the uninstall)
- Copt across the XML files from the backup, these contain the setting for SQL Prompt as well as the UI customization.
