Hi Jon,
Thank you for all the details provided and your patience.
If you could provide me with the following information, it would be very useful.
Does this happen all the time with any given database connection or is it only against a specific database? Can you let me know the size of the database that is causing the problem?
Also is the exception to do with a specific SQL file by any chance? If yes, does this SQL file have any cross database or linked server references in the script?
Thanks again for your patience:)

Tanya

Hi Jon,
Can you send us a snapshot of this database using Red Gate SQL Compare and tell us what your system RAM size is?
Can you try to disable SQL Prompt and see if you are able to work fine on SSMS using the same database and script?
Sorry for the inconvenience this issue has caused.
Thanks,
Tanya

Hi Mike,
You are right...SQL Prompt v4 no longer has a cache management dialog but you can still continue to refresh the cache by going to SQL Prompt menu - Refresh suggestions which would refresh the database you are connected to on the query window.
I hope that helps.
Thanks,
Tanya

Hi Mike,
Fair enough...we have the next release planned out for the second week of July. This will still not be a feature complete release but the pending functionalities at this point of time according to our current plans would be CTE support, Linked server, options for 'Performance' and 'Databases to ignore'. Also any reported critical bugs will be addressed before the final release which we aim to get done by early Aug 09.
I hope that helps?
Thanks,
Tanya

Hello Jon,
Thank you for bringing this issue to our notice.
This is actually a bug in snippets wherein we fail to insert any code followed by the $ sign:(
But don't worry, we will have it fixed by the final release and I will update the forum posting.
Thanks again and excuse us for any inconvenience caused!

Hi Anil,
I am sorry but unfortunately we will not be able to include the support for SQLCMD variables for SQL Prompt v4. However, this has been logged as an enhancement request and we will probably include the support for SQLCMD in our future versions.
I hope that helps and my apologies for any disappointment caused.

Hi Anil,
I understand your concern. It is in the review bucket and we will review it after v4.0 release wherein it will be decided whether the functionality will be implemented for 2009 or later. I will update the post once we arrive at a decision.
I am sorry if I am not being too helpful but it is hard to give any precise timelines at this stage.
Thanks,
Tanya
