What's new in Reflector since Lutz owned it?

  In all fairness, they haven't been doing nothing. They've had to support the new frameworks that have come out and work to ensure the decompiled result isn't filled with compiler added garbage.
  
  Outside of that, I don't think they've really done anything else. Regardless, it is a lot of work.
  
  I'm not pleased by this turn of events (my other posts should make that obvious) and I think the new version should have to stand on its own merits if they want to charge money for it, but I can't knock them for doing nothing since Lutz sold it.

  For what its worth, Redgate bought the code from another organization or individual with promises of maintaining its freeware status. So, what work did they really do? Is a fair question.
  
  Im not going to shell out 35 bucks for something that is exactly the same as prior versions with the exception of the updated framework, just to be told they work hard on it.
  
  So if they work hard on it, what did they do? Reflect the updated framework?
  
  It is ashame that Redgate bought the code with the idea that they could not handle the work associated with it. Seems they knew from the start what they were doing. Now the number of users are there, now they want to cash in.
  
  With that in mind, someone needs to pick up reigns and write a FREE reflector that surpasses the expectations of developers.

  I don't even know where to begin with your comment, man.
  
  As far as updating the software goes, Redgate is doing the same work Lutz did when he originally made the software. If you discredit Redgates work on updating it to handle the new quirks and features of the new frameworks, you're discrediting the very same work Lutz put into the program analyzing the CIL and producing legible source code from it. Redgate has to do this every time a new framework comes out to handle all the new features.
  
  I have legitimate problems with what Redgate is doing, but suggesting they do nothing is silly.

  It may well be that they've done a lot. But who knows? No one from Red Gate has posted to say anything they've done since they bought the tool from Lutz Roeder.
  
  All we know for certain is that they produced a Pro version that few people wanted.
  
  So are they raising the price (a) to cover all the development work they've done on Reflector for free, or (b) to cover all the development work they did on the Pro version which few people wanted to buy?

  Of course, Lutz (1) did it for free, (2) did it by himself, without the need for a team of developers, and (3) did it in his spare time.
  
  Don't get me wrong, Lutz put a lot of his time and effort into maintaining Reflector. But it's hard to swallow the whole "we can't afford to keep it free" when it was free for years, and maintained by one person in his spare time.
  
  To me, this isn't about "we can't", this is about "we want".

  I have been trying to get the .NET Reflector to work with Visual Studio 2010. I keep clicking the option to install it,
  but once I go into Visual Studio, there is no .NET Reflector menu option. It IS listed in Add-Ons and appears enabled.
  Am I the only one this is happening to?
