...What happened to Reflector?
So I've known about the expiration deal for a while now and decided to give 7 a trial run and I've noticed one thing in particular.
Performance, responsiveness, and overall appearance of the progra...
Greg, honestly, if you're going to be so patronizing and ignore the problem when responding, it would be better if you didn't respond at all or brought in someone else from Redgate to take comments.
You really seem to be enjoying the frenzy and adding gas to the blaze with comments like this and randomly shouting out how the paid version doesn't have a time bomb anymore, when no one is even complaining about that. / comments

I don't even know where to begin with your comment, man.
As far as updating the software goes, Redgate is doing the same work Lutz did when he originally made the software. If you discredit Redgates work on updating it to handle the new quirks and features of the new frameworks, you're discrediting the very same work Lutz put into the program analyzing the CIL and producing legible source code from it. Redgate has to do this every time a new framework comes out to handle all the new features.
I have legitimate problems with what Redgate is doing, but suggesting they do nothing is silly. / comments

Firstly I see a lot of the commentary is from people who have joined this Forum since Feb 11. So clearly not routine Red Gate users, and do not contribute to the community with experiences from the use of Red Gate products and involvement in Beta Testing etc. They just join up to moan...
I take slight offense to this comment. I have been a Reflector user for years before Redgate purchased it, and have probably used it far longer than you have. Just because I have not been actively involved in this community does not mean I have absolutely no right to an opinion on this matter. Since this happens to be the only way to voice my concern over this turn of events, I'm damn well going to voice my concern!
You seem interested in Redgate's other products. You're more than welcome to. I am not. I have not had a reason to use any product aside from Reflector and there's not much to discuss on that alone. Why I would need to join this community and participate in order to be allowed an opinion on a piece of software I've used for several years is asinine. / comments

In all fairness, they haven't been doing nothing. They've had to support the new frameworks that have come out and work to ensure the decompiled result isn't filled with compiler added garbage.
Outside of that, I don't think they've really done anything else. Regardless, it is a lot of work.
I'm not pleased by this turn of events (my other posts should make that obvious) and I think the new version should have to stand on its own merits if they want to charge money for it, but I can't knock them for doing nothing since Lutz sold it. / comments

I'm not sure where you got your info regarding this, JDelekto, but you're flat out wrong. There is nothing in the terms for the express editions that says you can't use them for commercial purposes. In fact, Microsoft encourages this and has done so since the express editions were first released several years ago. / comments

You should see what it's like to have children!
Are you really that out to comment against anyone who is upset with this move? I respect your right to have the opinions you do, but honestly comments like these are worthless and serve nothing more than to increase tension between folks here. / comments

I do not have an issue with paying for software.
However, Redgate, I think what you're doing is underhanded and sleazy. Leaving the time bomb code in after Lutz handed over the code should have been a clear indication of what was to come. Anyone ...
