A SQL Toolbelt Essentials subscription is required to access Data Modeler
Redgate Data Modeler is available as part of a SQL Toolbelt Essentials subscription. If you currently have a perpetual license rather than a subscription, you won’t have access to Data Modeler. This is because Data Modeler is a SaaS product, and access is provided exclusively through a subscription plan.
Data Modeler can also be purchased as a standalone tool.
Data Modeler licenses in the customer portal
A standalone Data Modeler license will only appear in the customer portal if it has been purchased directly through the Redgate sales team or via the online shopping cart.
If you purchased your license through Recurly, it won’t be displayed in the portal. In addition, academic licenses do not currently appear in the customer portal.
Installing and accessing Data Modeler
Redgate Data Modeler is licensed separately from the tools included in SQL Toolbelt Essentials, as it’s a standalone application. To access it, sign in to the customer portal and click 'Go to Data Modeler' on your license tile.
Academic accounts
Account plan limits exceeded: not entitled to logical models
Logical models aren’t included with standard licenses. During your trial period, you are able to create a logical model, but when the trial ends and standard licensing restrictions are applied, access to this feature is removed.
Deleting the existing logical model should restore access. If you need to continue using logical models, you’ll need to upgrade your plan. Please contact sales@red-gate.com for assistance.
