I am the support engineer that is investigating this issue you have raised. Thanks for posting your desired feature request in our forums. At this stage what I can suggest is that if you would like is that I put this forward as a feature/change request to our product management.
I can also suggest that you put this in the SQL Backup user voice section of our website. This is a forum-style thread where backup users can put in their desired features for the product. http://sqlbackup.uservoice.com/forums/91737-sql-backup
Thanks for your feedback in this matter. / comments

Thanks for your forum post.
At this stage this might be an easy fix if you are able to elevate the permissions required on your server. Are you able to get your server administrator to try the following solution: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... 75(v=vs.60).aspx
The other option would be to actually login as a sys admin (On your Win OS + SQL Server) and do the install. Apologies if you are already that and encountering this. In that case we might have to continue to work this further.

It looks like we've had some reports of behaviour like this previously when the SQBConverter.exe file has been corrupted in an upgrade - can you try downloading it from http://www.red-gate.com/labs/free-tools ... terGUI.zip and let me know if that works?
You can replace the SQBConverter.exe file in the SQL Backup program folder with the download if it does work, and you'll be able to launch it from the Utilities menu in the SQL Backup GUI. / comments
