administrator must reconfigure SQL Server

What is an error 259? I get it when I try to reinstall my monitor? Some time back, my computer crashed. It was horrible. Now, when I try to reinstall my monitor, I get an error 259 message that says: “Ad hoc updates to system catalogs are not enabled. The system administrator must reconfigure SQL Server to allow this.†I can’t get my color settings right and I’m completely at a loss. If I can get a dumbed-down version of how to fix this, it would be great.

    Thanks for your forum post.

    At this stage this might be an easy fix if you are able to elevate the permissions required on your server. Are you able to get your server administrator to try the following solution:

    The other option would be to actually login as a sys admin (On your Win OS + SQL Server) and do the install. Apologies if you are already that and encountering this. In that case we might have to continue to work this further.
