sorry, I dont have the stack trace!
...a bit more info:
- OS on both pc are is XP (incl. latest patches),
- Both installations have been upgraded from at least a version 5,
It was no trouble at all simply un-installing and then re-installing (compared to the value of the product). / comments

I see. I guess it is some kind of a relative importance.
It would be nice if I then could group by or order by or filter by or list by this "importance" object property. / comments

I was thinking in more "visual terms".
Say you only have one object displayed in the viewer.
You right click the object and get a list of dependant objects.
You then select the objects you want to explore/have displayed.
This way you would be able to work you way through a chain of dependancies visually. / comments

just a follow-up.
Purchased v4, installed it on top of v3, registered both data/schema products, compared using v3 project files, synchronized successfully (it seemed to work faster).

I'm having the same issue in my source control - source gear valut setup.
From the Vault client I have cleared the local cache and pulled all files from the server.
Everything else (that I've tried) in sql source control works really smoothly, however, I get the "Waiting for other operations to complete" when right-clicking a table, a view or any other source controlled object from the SMSS Object Explorer and select Show History
From the Vault client I have no trouble viewing history and differences.
any suggestions? / comments
