I'd guess that less than 50% of the time the last used comparison is the one I'm going to use when I crack out SQL Compare the next time. I am also the sole DBA in charge of comparisons.
Personally, I would prefer a checkbox in the application options that works along the lines of "open last project on startup" When not checked SQL Compare starts and looks as though I just canceled out of the comparison dialog, allowing me to use the 6 (plus or minus as defined by another variable in application options?) last used list to find the project I need. / comments

This could work. It might work better than creating one time use projects.
I do notice that if I change either of the servers or databases being compared that the title bar does not update to reflect that change. Even after a "Save As". Only after a comparison is run and "Edit Project" is selected, or the file is re-loaded does the title bar reflect the server/database changes that have been made.
Say I have a project comparing server.development v server.archive. If I change this to server.development v server.production the title bar still reflects the server.development v server.archive operation. This has the potential to be a bit confusing when glancing at the project window. / comments

Another option would be to have the open list act more like a favorites/bookmarks list from your web browser of choice. I have some projects that I rarely use and some that I use nearly daily.
Under version 7 those daily used projects naturally floated up to the top but could be fun to track down if I used one of my rarely used projects and the list order changed from what I'm used to on a day to day basis.

I have done everything through sqlcompare in the past though I usually have to look at the initial documentation to get all the parameters. The description for /out led me to believe I could use it to generate the html file.

I notice that after working my way through the deployment wizard and launching the generated script in management studio, the code window no longer has focus, requiring me to grab the mouse and click the code window before hitting F5. Since I'm keyboard centric, I have to ask, is this by design as it is a change from 9.0's behavior?
For what it is worth, I am running the version of management studio that ships with sql server 2008 r2.
