Hi Leigh,
Symbol names for local variables are not stored in the compiled assemblies, but rather in the associated PDB files. If there are no PDB files, which is likely the case for the assemblies with no source, especially if they were compiled in release mode, .NET Reflector will generate names for local variables so that it can display something meaningful in the disassembler view.
Hope that's helpful.

Hi there,
Yes, there will be an update to .NET Reflector, which will include CLR 4.0 support. This will be available in the free community addition. We'll also use that release to roll out various bug fixes that we'd like to make.
I don't have a delivery date yet unfortunately, so can't say any more than that.
Many thanks,

Hi there,
You can bookmark regions on the timeline by clicking and dragging, then clicking the pencil icon in the top left corner. You can then enter a name for your region so you can select it again later.
When you select a region profiling results will be displayed for that region, so it's best to do this whilst your application is relatively idle in order to avoid skewing the results. You could get around this by selecting a very short period of time, and using the region just to bookmark one end of a time period of interest.
Hope that helps.
Thanks,

The only changes were to digitally sign the assembly, to stop Vista (and later), complaining about the assembly being unsigned every time you run .NET Reflector, and the version number. It's *possible* that the digital signing may have interfered with the search functionality, although that seems unlikely.
It's also possible that something else installed on your system could be interfering with .NET Reflector's operation. Again, this is unlikely, but without more information I can't say either way for sure.
The bottom line is that because this problem appears to occur so rarely and, as a result, we've been unable to reproduce it here, unfortunately I don't have anything more sensible to suggest at this point.
Sorry I can't be more help.

Yeah, that sounds like an installer issue: in v5 we've put quite a lot of effort in to making sure we don't leave menu items behind if you uninstall the product. To do this we have to start up Visual Studio a couple of times during installation: if it pops up a modal dialog every time it starts, for any reason, the outcome probably won't be too clever. Thanks for letting us know, although at this stage I'm unsure how we'd go about fixing it, or even if we can.
Thanks,

Excellent! You're welcome.
Aha: that'll be why. If you set it forward too far Reflector will think it's expired and then go and remove itself.
Apologies for the hassle.

Hmm, interesting. It's possible that it doesn't like the clock being set to a time earlier than its build date or something like that. This isn't something we've encountered before though so it might be worth downloading again from http://reflector.red-gate.com just to be absolutely sure you have the latest version.
Thanks,

Hi there,
There's no reason your system clock would be set incorrectly is there?
