Thanks for reaching out to us regarding this.
I've double checked on this and what your are describing is expected behaviour. This is also confirmed within the SQL Data Compare documentation: https://documentation.red-gate.com/sdc/reviewing-the-comparison-results/viewing-the-data#:~:text=Use the,with a difference. Unfortunately there is not currently a way to change this behaviour.
I appreciate that, in it's current state, this functionality isn't working as you'd like it to and so encourage you to log a feature request via the SQL Data Compare UserVoice page: https://redgate.uservoice.com/forums/147879-sql-data-compare. This way our development team will have visibility of it and other customers will be able to vote for it.

Is there a setting to change this behaviour? I find it extremely aggravating, especially when I have a lot of rows to check through.
