How do you go about using tags and branches with VisualSVN and SQL Source Control

I'm working on a project that isn't going to be going live for a few months and I wanted to create a branch for the new version.

Cant see anything obvious in the tool. Does this mean I need to create my branch using tortoiseSVN and then just link my database to that branch?
