I am also seeing this problem using SQL Compare 12. Haven't been able to work out what is causing it. Same version of SQL Server.

Hi Claire,
This issue was resolved for jeffveg in the August release of SQL Source Control, can you confirm the full version of SQL Compare you are using please? -
I know this thread is close to 2.5 years old but I am running into the same error on SQL Compare Version 12.3.3.4490 and it is preventing me from comparing databases at all. Additionally I cannot perform a manual update of SQL Compare 12. I am not sure if the two issues are related.

Anyone else having this issue?
We are storing in TFS 2012 with update 1 (11.0.51106.1 )
SQL source control is 5.7.6.6321
SQL 2016 (SP1-CU3) (13.0.4435.0) ( running as the primary in a Always-on cluster, Manual fail over so I know it is the same box as always. )
