Hi mjharper,
Thanks for posting on the Redgate forums.
Is this consistent across all projects? Do you have Multi script on two machines that you can test on?
When I test this locally on my machine I do get the .smsproj extension consistently. -
This happens with all projects. Unfortunately I don't have a second machine to test on.

Hi mjharper.
If you uninstall and re-install multi-script does this behaviour continue?
I've tried a few things locally but I have still been unable to replicate this. -
Uninstall/re-install didn't make any difference I'm afraid!
Thanks -
Hi mjharper,
Can you send over a screenshot of the project folder? We still haven't been able to reproduce this or found an obvious root cause.
Also, do the project names contain any special characters? -
Hi Dan,
Sent you a PM.
Thanks.

Hi mjharper,
Thank you very much for the video. So the problem is that some of your filenames have a . in them. For example
Loads.stuff.smsproj
when saved will be saved as Loads.stuff. Essentially multi-script is seeing .stuff as a file extension and strips the .smsproj off the end. The short term workaround would be to remove . from filenames. I will raise a bug internally but I can't give any guarantees of when or if this will be resolved. -
haha - that makes sense. I'll update the names to get around the problem for now. Thanks.

Hi mjharper,
I have raised this with an internal reference of SE-744. I will update this post when I receive some further information. -
Hi mjharper,
A bug fix has been released for this in the latest version of SQL Multiscript 1.3 You can download this here: ftp://support.red-gate.com/patches/SQLM ... 16Nov2016/. You can review the release notes here: http://documentation.red-gate.com/displ ... r+versions. -
That works fine now. Thanks.

I'm running v1.2.8.601 which i believe is the latest release. If I open a project, change it and then save either by File --> save project or Ctrl+Shift+S then a new file is saved without any extension.
Similarly if I create a new project and save it by File --> Save project as...the resulting file doesn't have any extension.
These files are then obviously not associated with MultiScript.

Matt
