time to compare

I'm migrating a database from one environment to another. To minimize downtime during the migration, I want to restore a backup on the new server and use Data Compare to sync data.

I'm running a test comparison now and it's taking quite a while to run. Will subsequent runs take less time or will it take just as long because it still has to scan all the data?

    There are various factors that can affect the performance of a data comparison as described here - this includes the amount of data in the databases.
