"CommandText not init"/"Cancelling Previous Task" forever?

Howdy. I'm getting the following, trying to compare a 2012 & 2014 box.

After I give the server names, if I click "compare" I get: "ExecuteReader: CommandText property has not been initialized"
However, if instead I click on "Tables & Views", it says "registering databases", gets to 33%, then says "Cancelling previous task 0%", and starts over.

Is this the old "doesn't support the 6-months old version of SQL" error?

    I am experiencing the same issue. Is there a fix for this? I just want to compare the objects between a 2012 and 2014 version and am unable.
