License allocation showing as 0 or incorrect in Redgate Monitor

If the configuration page in Redgate Monitor is displaying your license entitlements as 0 or a number that doesn’t match those shown in the customer portal, it can be caused by residual information from a legacy activation which can interfere with the current license allocation or a connection issue stopping Monitor from being able to communicate with the licensing service, preventing it from retrieving the correct entitlement information.

To fix this:

  • Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Red Gate\Redgate Monitor\Licensing\Permits
  • Delete the permit found in this folder
  • Then refresh the Redgate Monitor UI, navigate to Configuration > Licensing and click on 'Allocate licenses'
