The answer to this is that we needed to use the top-level vCenter host name/IP itself, not the host name/IP of the individual VMWare hosts (that house guest VMs) within vCenter. / comments

Apologies for the delay in my response, @Russell D. I DL'd the log files zip from the Configuration page. I'm a hesitant to post them here. Can you verify that it's safe? If not, shall we open a support case? / comments

No worries, @Russell D. I've been bouncing around with other projects. I'll send the logs to support. / comments

Oddly, when I go to the Redgate User Voice page, there is no category for SQL Monitor. https://redgate.uservoice.com/forums/602209-redgate / comments

Thanks, @Russell D. Unfortunately, we run index re-orgs and rebuilds on different nights for different servers (same as when full backups run). If I move it for one server, the next one will probably bubble up. It would be nice if we could change this setting at a per-instance grain. / comments

Thanks, @Russell D. That makes sense to me, even if it's not the answer I wanted. I'd still like a way to get around that and see various "instances" of the query execution like I can in SQL Sentry. Every time I feel the need to set up an XE trace to get to the details I need for RCA, I wonder if SQL Monitor is just missing some functionality. Perhaps I am expecting too much. How do you recommend I dive deeper when I want to correlate what I'm seeing in SQL Monitor with actual query events? / comments

Thanks, @Ivo_Miller and @Nick_Foster. I think between these options, I've got enough to move forward. / comments
