source control in SSMS

Just asking if anyone else has come accross the issue of really slow perfomance whne using source control in SSMS.we are takling several minutes each time we click any object inside the database.

when pushing commited changes to devop from SSMS, the push fails because the branch is protected and requires a pull request before it allows changes to be commited.this is not highlighted in SSMS....
