All the tools in the SQL Toolbelt Essentials should work and be compatible with SQL Server 2019!
Posting for clarity's that this is indeed a problem with the latest release. We have logged an issue for this and are looking into it. Currently the only way around it would be to downgrade back to version 10.0.4.26995. It is very important to note, however, that you would need a backup of your data repository from version 10.0.4.26995 in order to do this.
The installer can be downloaded from here I will edit this once we have released a fix! / comments

Hi Sven,
unfortunately, there is no direct way of having SQL Source Control installed on only one version of SSMS. However, as a workaround, you could delete the following after installation to remove the add-on from that specific version of SSMS:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\XXX\Tools\Binn\ManagementStudio\Extensions\<Name of tool> / comments

Hi Carlos,
It is indeed still true regardless of the license. Installing SA7 on a trial should make no difference to SA6.

Hi Carlos,
You can indeed install Smart Assembly 7 without affecting your installation of 6. To be absolutely sure I just installed both myself and they install side by side.

Hi Eric,
Using SQL Express for the Data Repository would work, but we don't recommend it because it is limited to 10GB in size and, depending on the number of entities you are monitoring, it can fill up quite quickly if you do not set aggressive Data Retention settings. You can read more about Data Retention in the following:
https://documentation.red-gate.com/sm/configuring-sql-monitor/configuring-monitored-servers/sql-monitor-data-retention-policy

Hi,
Sometimes issues like this can crop up when there's a mismatch in the DLL SQL Search shares with other Redgate tools. Would you mind running the below installer to upgrade any other tools you may have installed. Should do the trick:
