Hi @Russell D, Thanks for the response. In relation to #1, it wouldn't have to be a hard date. You could put an estimated date. Saying "soon" isn't very descriptive. If you had an estimated date, pending testing, of 5/10/2019, that would at least let us know we should be ready at that point in time. Either way, we will attempt to put the required in changes in place soon after seeing future notifications. Thanks, Sam / comments

I'll take the blame for the issues my company has encountered related to this as I have been seeing the message in the logs. I would like to request two things for future breaking changes though. 1. Please include a date in the message as to when the breaking change will be implemented. 2. Please don't release it on a Friday. Thanks! Sam / comments

@Diogo - Thanks for the response. I do see that portion, but when it says "The database snapshot was saved by a newer version of SQL Compare" it doesn't reference what version the database snapshot was saved with. / comments

@Diogo - I believe my problem is that the Azure Devops plugin is not installing the latest version. It appears it always had prior to this afternoon as our release servers all have various numbers of older versions installed (up through 3.1.9 something), but do not have the 3.1.10 version installed. / comments

We are also using the Azure DevOps plug in and I am receiving this same error. It doesn't appear it is downloading / installing the latest version of the Powershell module. Even if I specify a specific version it doesn't appear to be downloading / installing it. Also, how do you see what version this error is referencing? / comments

Hi @Sergio R, The problem is that the release does not even get to the Pre-Deployment script because it is trying to validate a connection to the database being released. Since the database does not exist, the connection fails. This all happens prior to the Pre-Deployment script. The connection string specifies the target database, which does not exist. Obviously there must be a way to make this work since you have the concept of a Pre-Deployment script that creates the database. Any help is much appreciated. Sam / comments

I have seen this behavior, but in our scenario it is when there is a change to a large stored procedure or view. I believe it is attempting to identify the differences. / comments
