Morning! We've found that if you open the SQL Search tab before connecting to the database, the tool should work as expected. Can you try this and confirm this is the case on your end as well?
This is a horrible solution to this problem. When you open SSMS, it automatically prompts you to connect to a server. So, we have to either connect, disconnect, open SQL Search and reconnect. Or, Don't connect, open SQL Search the Connect. Either way, I don't use the search feature all that often, so, HABIT is to Connect when SSMS starts. I am hoping there is a fix coming soon for this. / comments

First, the amount of static data we have is about 56Kbytes It's really small, maybe 30 rows in 10 tables. Like I said, this wasn't a problem until recently. Funny thing, is everyone else that has upgraded to the latest version of Red-Gate Source Control don't have this issue either. So, I am going to uninstall RGSC and re-install it to see if I have something corrupted. First, I am going to unlink all my databases, then I will uninstall, then I will do a clean install. See what happens after that. / comments

I am not seeing this error, but I am seeing a major performance hit. Just to switch from a query window to the SSC tab or vise versa, it takes 5-6 seconds. This didn't and doesn't happen in the previous release (my release is 6.3.5.8535). The funny thing is, the two tables that show up to commit are in tables that have a few rows (3-5) and there is only 2 changes. I mean, WOW. Second, I don't understand the meaning behind the setting. I mean, if you don't want static data, don't link it. Isn't this setting kind of redundant? Was it meant to do something else? Because, when it is unchecked and I have static data linked, nothing shows up in the Commit/Get Latest tabs of SSC if there are differences, even if I force a check for differences. / comments

Hi Mark,
If SQL Prompt is already installed to a version of SSMS and you update to a newer build of that same SSMS version, then SQL Prompt doesn't require a reinstall. (A repair/reinstall only needed if you install a completely new version of SSMS.)
Were you able to get it installed to SSMS 2017, but it has gone missing after the 17.1 update?
We installed new version of SSMS. doing the repair of the installation worked just fine. Thanks / comments

I just installed SSMS 17.1. Do I have to re-install my redgate product to get it to show up? Is there an easier way? / comments

I know this is old and has been asked, but see no response from anyone. We also would like a command line version of SqlSnapper.
Thanks / comments

So, I am trying to run the latest SQL Snapper (stand alone) and it's not working. for version 12, this worked w/ just two files, (REDGATE.SQLSNAPPER.exe and RedGate.SOCCompareInterface.dll). Today, with version 15, it just won't run. It seems that none of the required assemblies were compiled into SQL SNAPPER (notice that the size of version 12 is 8.74MB, but the size of version 15 is only 240KB) I guess we will stick with version 12 for now when trying to get a snapshot at customers. Thanks / comments
