Thanks for the pointer ... hope it's a quick fix !
I've found I can Ctrl+K, Ctrl+Y and do the entire file, then select the SELECT block and Ctrl+K, Ctrl+Y to format it

I have discovered this same problem. It appears to have been reported separately, confirmed, and logged to be addressed in the next release: http://www.red-gate.com/MessageBoard/vi ... php?t=9454
As a workaround, temporarily commenting or cutting out the CREATE VIEW statement allows SP4 to format the view correctly.

Tanya,
maybe ... when I say "local", I mean from my laptop to one or more virtual machine, hosted either on my laptop or on another machine in my study.
Will this mean "internet connection is essential" ? - because if it does, then I'm going to have serious problems
I know the "always on" connection is coming, but it's not here yet, so is there anyway to ameliorate the "internet connection is essential" requirement ? / comments

The comment ... Note: Offline working is not supported in the new version. ... has me worried
Do you mean it won't work with a working internet connection ? - I work on my laptop with a local database, and I often don't have internet. / comments

Thanks Andy, that works fine

You're right, it doesn't seem to like CTEs written like that at all. If you omit the column list and write it like
WITH [DAN_Decision_v4_data]
AS ( SELECT i.[ID] AS [ID] ,
i.[Decision_ID] AS [Decision_ID]
)
then it seems to format OK - would that work for you in this case? I'll log the inconsistent behaviour with column lists as a bug.

Thanks for your post.
Unfortunately, the fix for this didn't make it into SQL Prompt 4. I believe the temporary workaround was to stop SQL Prompt laying out ALTER VIEW statements.
We are still working on the fix, and it is still open and scheduled for a future version. However, I'm not sure exactly when you can expect it.
For your reference the bug tracking number for this is SP-2770.
Is there any news on this bug and the same one in CREATE VIEW ?
And is there some way to see bug status ? / comments
