I have found a few issues with using the backup to a network location. One of the was resolved by adding a reverse name lookup, and another by changing the registry.
My recommendation is always to backup locally and the use the copyto option. This will increase the speed of the backup, and writing over the network. I believe that this option will be as fast if not faster than writing directly over the network. It will also give you the ability to have a local backup file when the network fails !!!
Let me know how you get on with an email to support@red-gate.com

Hi Ron
We have just had another instance of this happening. It appears to be a sql server memory problem, with regardes to the virtual backup device.
I am currently running a test to try and force the same error here so that we can investigate it further.
After an initial investigation the only way to retrieve the recources is to restart the sql server (proably best to reboot the server).
Can you email any other information you have to support@red-gate.com so that we can resolve this asap.
Thanks

Hi
The ERASEFILES_ATSTART and ERASEFILES options value is number of days. This is calculated as 24 hour blocks, so the only files deleted will be greater than X*24 hours old.
In your script all the files that remained should be less than 24 hours old.

Hi
We have had no reports of long file name problems. Can you check that the SQLAgent user has adequate rights to delete files from the directory, and that you are running version 3.2 .

Hi Srini
Are you running SQL & on NT4. If so there is a problem with the save dialog box. This means that you can only get to the script by having it passed to QA.
However it looks like the script is too large for QA in this situation.
Can you run the software from a client that is windows 2000 or higher? It does not have to be run from the server.

Hi J
The reset and enable/disable buttons should be available when you profile ASP.NET. They will become enabled when a connection is set up between ASP.NET and ANTS Profiler; you will be able to see when the connection is made because the status text at the bottom of ANTS Profiler UI will change from ‘Waiting for connection’ to ‘Profiling performance of web application…’
Could you check out that the status has indeed changed to ‘Profiling…’? If so then does taking a snapshot work – i.e. do you get a set of profiling results at that point?
Can you let us know how you get on as this may be a bug and we would like to resolve any problems. Please send you findings to tech support using the email address support@red-gate.com

Hi Beechams
The engine that shows the differences in the lower text window is not as powerful as the one that creates the scripts. This is probably why this option is missing from the text window.
