Hi there,
This is not currently available in the command line, however has been raised as a feature request in our systems under ref SC-2426. Hopefully it will be included in a future release of the tool as this seems a pretty good idea to me.

Hi Larry,
You need 2 licenses of SQL Response if you wish to install the tool on a cluster, as you need a license for each node.
If you believe you have enough licenses to cover this node, please can you send an e-mail to support(at)redgate.com referencing this forum post along with your license information?
Many thanks!

Hi there,
As far as I am aware, this isn't possible. You do need to take another full backup and then the next 6 differentials.
As a workaround, you may want to set up a scheduled job which copies the old backup files across to a network location, and which then also erases the old backup files on local disk thus ensuring you only ever have 7 backups on local disk.

Hi there,
I have knows SQL Backup not update a system table if it cannot gain access, i.e. the table is corrupt, doesn't exist (has happened!) or there is another process blocking the update, however the log file normally details this.
Is this the full log file? You can obtain the full log by right clicking on the job and selecting "Show Log".
Also, I am guessing that this is scheduled job? Can you send me the specific syntax that you have for this job?
Many thanks! / comments

Hi Peter,
As far as I am aware, if you set this option in the GUI and then run the command line version of the tool, you should then see the script generated split into multiple transactions.
There isn't however a way to specify this through the command line at the present time.

Hi Rene,
Is there any chance you can send me the original script that you were using, along with the SQL Compare project files you are using for both comparisons and the command line argument you are using and I will have a look into this for you.
You can send these to support(at)redgate.com FAO Pete and I will get them and then update the case we alrady have raised for you regarding this.

Hi Daniel,
As far as I am aware, the compatibility mode doesn't affect the the mdf and ldf files of the database, they are still read as being whatever version of SQL Server you are running. With that in mind, you will not be able to restore a backup taken of a database on SQL Server 2008 running compatibility mode of 2005 on a 2005 server; you will need a 2008 server to restore it onto.

Hi,
If you know the data in the specific field then you can run a WHERE clause, alternatively select the row you know where the field is to drill down to that, and then when you rum the synchronization wizard only the fields that are different / or you manually specify from there will be selected for synchronization.

Hi there,
Providing you have the PRO edition of SQL Data Compare and it is full or differential backups that you are comparing against, SQL Data Compare shouldn't have a problem with this at all.
