Can you please confirm the full version of Schema Compare for Oracle you are using? You can obtain this information via the Help menu →About option.
The data sources are you comparing two databse schemas or Scripts folder as the source to a database schema as the target? Or database schema as the source to a Scripts folder as the target?
What version of Oracle in use on the database schema you are comparing?
Can you please enable the Verbose logging as per this help article. Are there any entries in the log file that suggest a possible cause of the error?

As I am evaluating Schema Compare, I find that it hangs after comparing a small or even empty schema. I have a similar issue when comparing small stuff in data compare as well. I make it through the reading dependencies, registering database one/two and the comparing of the databases and I can close that dialog and then it hangs and becomes unresponsive.
The only way to recover at that point is to kill the task. There's nothing in the logs and I even left it open overnight to find the same the next morning. I really want this to work because I've used redgate tools with no issue for MSSQL prior.
