FieldMapping not valid for MatchingMappings

Ever since upgrading to 8.nn, I have been receiving the message "FieldMapping not valid for MatchingMappings". The first step of Registering databases is successful, but Mapping has the red X with the above message and Popup Box stating "Tasks cannot be completed". I have version 7.1 installed, and it works between the same two databases I am trying with version 8.

I have had this problem ever since installing version 8.0 and currently have version 8.0.2.5 installed.

What am I doing wrong? TIA, Scott

    Hi Scott,

    Is there any chance you can create the same project again in SQL Data Compare 8 and let me know if you experience the same issue?

    I have seen cases before where there is an issue with SQL Data Compare 8 reading the old project file, and the way to rectify this has been to recreate the project from scratch in version 8.

    Is this something that you are able to do?

    I know this post is old, but in case someone is still running into this issue...

    I had the exact same issue. No matter what I changed in the mappings (retoring defauolts, etc.) it would fail.

    Closed the project, created a New Project, chose the DBs and Tables and it now works fine.

    I get this error as well when reusing a project. When i try to restore default mappings it crashes Data Compare.

    I had the same problem, reusing an old project. when I set-up a new project everything is working correctly.
