I have a deadlock alert that I keep clearing only to have it re-appear over and over. It occurred on 7/31/2009 and continues to re-appear. There have been no instances of the lock since then, yet it keeps throwing the alert every few minutes as if it's a new one each time. The email portion of the alert follows. Any thoughts????

    Hi nuberfin,

Could you take a look at the SQL Error log and see if there seems to be any problems with the time? Could you also try cycling the error log and see if that stops it?

    You can use this command:

    sp_cycle_errorlog

    I hope this helps,

No issues with the time that I can see. I have a job that recycles the error log every week that ran on 8/2 (after the notification), but I'll try another recycle and see if it solves the issue.

    Thanks!

    Hi

Are you still having problems with this Alert that keeps repeating?

Or did recycling the error log resolve the problem?

    Many Thanks

So far so good after recycling the error log again. Thanks for the follow up!
