Redgate Client service errors out

Can't start the service, gives me an error message:

Windows could not start the Redgate Client service on Local Computer.

Error 1053:  The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

I'm not able to use any tools, and I can't uninstall them either, just hangs.

Please help.

Based on the error message, it seems like the service is not starting up properly. This could be due to a few potential reasons. The service dependencies - the Redgate Client service may be dependent on other services that are not starting correctly, so try checking the status of related services and ensuring they are all running properly.

Error 1053 usually points to a timeout issue—could be caused by missing .NET Framework components or permission problems. Try checking if the correct version of .NET is installed, and run the service as admin. Also, see if there's anything in the Event Viewer for more details. Hope this helps!

To fix the Error 1053, try the following:

    1. Restart your PC: A simple restart can resolve many service-related issues.
    2. Run as Administrator: Right-click the tool or service and select "Run as administrator."
    3. Check Windows Services: Open services.msc, find the Redgate Client service, and ensure it's set to "Automatic."
    4. Increase Timeout: Edit the registry to increase service timeout:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
Modify ServicesPipeTimeout to a higher value like 60000.
    5. Reinstall: If possible, reinstall the software to reset the service configuration.
