Block update functionality in SQL Search

Is it possible to block the update functionality for SQL Search or at the very least disable the auto-updating option? The reason I am asking is that in the environment I work in SQL Search is deployed to the users via SCCM/MECM plus we use Airlock Digital Client for application whitelisting and because of the way the detection method is setup for our SQL Search, we do not want users being able to update SQL Search either deliberately or automatically.

    If you open SSMS and select SQL Search.  Select the Help drop down menu.  There is is an option which by default is enabled called Enable Auto-update.  This option if unchecked will stop SQL Search from automatically applying updates.
