New SQL Clone agent - lots of errors in SQL Log file

We have recently created/installed a new SQL Clone agent to consumer images and when we present clones to the instance there are lots of "The operating system returned error 21" errors mentioned in the setup. 

Databases are going into suspect mode and thus we need to restart the SQL Server instance as per the SQL Clone troubleshooting workaround. 

Can anyone help/assist?

    "The operating system returned error 21" errors indicates a networking problem with the Clone database (SQL Clone Agent) losing its connection to the Clone Image.

    Has there been any network outages between the machine hosting the Clone and SQL Clone Agent service to the machine hosting the network share where the SQL Clone Image resides?

    Not that I am aware of. I think we worked out it was due to the target server (consuming the clone) disk space running out of space. But unsure if I am wrong.
