How can we help you today? How can we help you today?

Are there plans to allow setup/management of Custom Alerts to be code-based (instead of just UI)?

After doing some quick searches through these forums and Google, it seems that Custom Alerts (ie; from my screenshot, below), can only be setup and managed through the SQL Monitor UI / website, and cannot be accessed programmically through your Powershell API. Is this indeed correct? If yes, are there plans in the future to add these to the Powershell API? If no, and it is already in the Powershell API, can you point me to the right objects / cmdlets? Thanks, in advance.

    Hi there,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I'm afraid there isn't a way to set up a custom metric and the associated alert through the SQL Monitor PowerShell cmdlets. My apologies for the inconvenience that this causes

Though, I would suggest that you can vote and add your comments to an existing feature request in the SQL Monitor UserVoice Forum for a similar feature request
    https://sqlmonitor.uservoice.com/forums/91743-suggestions/suggestions/42381673-custom-metrics-and-alerts-powershell-cmdlet

Adding your vote and/or comments against this post will help highlight your request and how it can add value to SQL Monitor. The product team monitors this page to make future decisions about our products and features to be added.

There we go! I have logged into your Suggestion Site, and upvoted-and-commented. I had figured that my hunch was correct that this was not possible (...yet! :smirk: ). Thank you for verifying, and commenting back here, @chrisqtran. Cheers!!
