Search for a string?

How do I search for a string set?  I want to find "[StatYear] - 1" but when I type this in or no square brackets or single quotes I get all results for StatYear and also results for 1 and also results for -.  Ugh.  What I want is the complete string only.  I feel like this is an obvious thing, so I must be missing something in the docs

    Hi,
    Thank you for your forum post.

    Square brackets around identifier's are  automatically filtered out.

    Select the Match whole words only option to search for an exact word or phrase, as per this help document.
