Hi @meldupl
I'm happy to report that this bug has been fixed in the latest version of SQL Prompt:

still losing options after I restart SSMS. Using SQL Prompt 10.13.5.16. SSMS is version 18.12.1. Also under Queries > Color > Edit Environments, I add an environment, click Save, but it does not stick. I do run SSMS as a different user (not the user my Windows is running under), so I am wondering if it is saving the settings under my normal Window users folder under C:\Users. It works just fine when I run SSMS under the account I am running Windows under

I am having the same problem as jgonnering. I cannot make changes to coloring under Queries > Color. Whenever I make changes it just reverts them when I close the settings.

Hi @ColinAnderson
Regarding the SQL Prompt settings location, the file path isC:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Red Gate\SQL Prompt 10
which the SSMS login user that is different from the windows user may not have permission to edit folders in.
The article below covers how to change this location to a file path that may be more accessible.

Hi, I'm having the same problem as jgonnering and ColinAnderson.
SQL Prompt options reset after closing SSMS.
Problem appears in Prompt version 10.13.5.16, SSMS login user is the same as windows user and it seems I do have permission to edit folders located in said path.

There is currently an issue where under certain circumstances some settings such as tab colors are not saving. The dev team are actively looking at a fix for this and it should hopefully be out soon.
You can manually edit this by changing the "ConnectionColoringCategories.xml" and "ConnectionColoringServers.xml" in %localappdata%/red gate/SQL Prompt 10 -
Hi, @ATurner ,Thank you for your reply. Since it was really annoying, I already changed xml files manually a few hours ago (ConnectionColoringCategories, ConnectionColoringServers and RedGate_SqlPrompt_Engine_EngineOptions).I double checked my user's permission, even compared it with my colleague's settings, and it seems that only I have such a problem.

Hi All
This should be fixed in the latest prompt release. -
I have version latest version of SQL Prompt 10.13.7.360, and when I add new custom alias under "Inserted Code > Aliases" it does not persist them in the RedGate_SqlPrompt_Engine_EngineOptions.xml file. When I close and reopen SSMS, the aliases are no longer there. I have changed my options folder in the registry to a folder that the account has permissions to as described above. I am running my SSMS as a different account than my Windows login. The account I am running SSMS is a local admin account.SQL Server Management Studio 15.0.18424.0 (version 18.12.1)SQL Server Management Objects (SMO) 16.100.47021.0+7eef34a564af48c5b0cf0d617a65fd77f06c3eb1Microsoft Analysis Services Client Tools 15.0.19750.0Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 10.0.22000.1574Microsoft MSXML 3.0 6.0Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0.30319.42000Operating System 10.0.22000

Any way to fix this? I've read a thread that suggested changing it on the SSMS instance of SQL Prompt but I do not have access to a local SSMS version to be able to do this.
