Code suggestions are hyperactive, and don't allow me to enter te code I want

I just wat IF Exists (select * ..)

and get 
IFIFIFECTIIFFLECT exists (SELECT * FROM [imp

I need to switch it off. Then  I can enter my sql commands..

    Just to ensure I fully understand the issue you are seeing here, am I correct that suggestions are getting in the way of you typing your SQL code? Any further details around this would be much appreciated. 

    If so, increasing the delay time at which suggestions will be served up may help here:
