possible adjust alert subject length?

Is there a way to modify the subject for alerts?  Some critical alerts are sent via text message but the service we are using to send out messages has a subject limit.  It would be nice if there was a long and short version of alerts to send out.

    Hi Jeff,

    Many thanks for your query, unfortunately at present there isn't a way to configure/change the subject line of these from the default. 

    I would suggest raising this request on the UserVoice site, votes on these suggestions can help prioritise future features!
