I installed SQL 2005 on a server and then loaded the managemt studio using my windows userid/password. I than configured management database backups. Later on I installed SBS 2008 on another server. I then DCPROMO'ed my SQL server into the domain. My management studio can no longer logon and my backups are getting logon errors. I need to change the logon id's to domain users. How do I do this?

Thank you for your post into the forum.

Unfortunately I do not see how your problem is caused by Red Gate SQL Backup.

By running DCPROMO you have updated your SQL Server to become a Domain Controller.

Everything that I have read regarding this subject, Microsoft recommends that you do have SQL Server on a Domain Controller.

Please take a look at this msdn article, as it contains advice on setting SQL Server 2008 on a Domain Controller. I believe the requirement outlined in this article will also apply for SQL Server 2005:

    Many Thanks
