Assign permissions to gMSA

Hi folks,

I'm looking to automate a refresh process. A windows schedule task will run weekly to start/stop application services and run the SQL Clone image\clone creation processes. We want to use a gMSA for this task - are these supported for SQL Clone permissions?

On this page it only mentions AD Users and groups:
User roles - SQL Clone 5 - Product Documentation (red-gate.com)
Version 2.2.0 of SQL Clone introduced role-based permissions. These allow administrators to assign Active Directory users or groups into specific roles, enabling them to control who can do what with SQL Clone. These permissions apply on both the web UI and via PowerShell or other clients.

    Hi Jess,
    Thank you for your forum post.

    Sadly, SQL Clone has not been officially tested using gMSA - see the 'Untested scenarios' section of this help limitations document. 

    By all means please to give it a try.

    You may need to initially, need to provide a Windows AD account for the SQL Clone Service and SQL Clone Agent accounts.  Once up and running, switch the two services to use a gMSA.  However this has not been tested.
