This started for me sometime in version 14.5. Not a huge bug, but annoying nonetheless.

Hi docspoodle
Thanks for reaching out to us on this!Would it be possible to see a screenshot of an example dialog doing this?
Also, do you find this happens with all SQL Compare dialogs?
-
Yes, definitely the My Projects dialog and every one during the compare process. Even if you drag one of them back to the left monitor, the next dialog pops up back on the center one - every time. It doesn't even remember it for a single session.
Thanks!

Hi @docspoodle
Thanks for providing the screenshot to show this.
Would you mind confirming exactly what version of SQL Compare you are seeing this issue in?Also, if you are not already on the very latest version (v.14.6.4), would you mind installing this version to see if you continue to experiencing this?

Dan,
As I mentioned above, it started in 14.5 and affected all updates that I tried. I was on 14.5.22.19589 today because it was telling me there were no more updates. Downloaded 14.6.4 from your link and the problem still exists. I drag the dialog back to the left monitor and then the very next dialog still opens on center. Closing all windows on the left monitor does not fix it. The main re-opens on left but all dialogs still open on center.
Are you not able to reproduce this?
Thanks,
Jason -
Hi @docspoodle
Thanks for confirming on this, and for the further information. We have been able to replicate it to a certain extent. When launching SQL Compare the dialog box initially opens in front of the main application window (as expected), however when following the below steps we do see the same issue you are reporting:1. Open SQL Compare
2. Close new project dialog
3. Move the main SQL Compare window to other screen
4. Close SQL Compare on the other screen
5. Relaunch SQL Compare - the dialog is shown on the other screen to the main application window
I'm going to engage with our development team to get their input on this. I will come back to you as soon as possible.

Hi again @docspoodle
Just to check, do you also use SQL Data Compare? If so, do you see this issue in that product also?
-
Thanks for looking into it - no, I do not use Data Compare so unsure if the issue is there also.

Hi @docspoodle
No problem, I will come back to you again as soon as I have an update on this for you.

Hi @docspoodle
Just to advise that work on a fix for this issue has now been completed and is ready to be shipped as part of our next release of SQL Compare (likely to be v.14.6.6). I expect this to be available for you to download from early next week, you should be prompted within SQL Compare to download it.
I hope this helps!

Thanks so much!!

Hi @docspoodle
I'm pleased to advise that the fix for this has been included in today's release of SQL Compare!SQL Compare v.14.6.6 can be downloaded directly from here: https://download.red-gate.com/checkforupdates/SQLCompare/SQLCompare_14.6.6.19949.exe
If you wouldn't mind confirming that this does indeed resolve this issue for you, that would be greatly appreciated.
