Hi @TimF
Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue with SQL Prompt. Thanks for reaching out to us!
Just an initial thought/question on this, are the snippets that did convert in the same location as those that didn't?
-
@Dan_J
Hi Dan, yes they are all at the same location. -
Hi @TimF
Many thanks for confirming that.Firstly, apologies for appearing to ignore your initial question around whether there is a dedicated conversion tool! Unfortunately there is currently no tool available for this.
I think it may be worth taking a back of all your snippet and styles files before then completely remove SQL Prompt (we advise using Revo installer free to ensure all residual files are removed - https://www.revouninstaller.com/products/revo-uninstaller-free/) and then reinstalling it. The latest version (v.10.6.10) of SQL Prompt can be downloaded here: https://download.red-gate.com/checkforupdates/SQLPrompt/SQLPrompt_10.6.10.19533.exe).
My hope is that your remaining snippet files will when be converted to the new JSON file format.If this does not convert the remaining files we advise reading through the following help document which outlines another possible solution to this issue: https://documentation.red-gate.com/sp/sql-code-formatting-and-styles/updating-style-files-from-before-version-10-5
Please let me know if either of these suggestions do or do not resolve this issue for you.

Hi @TimF
On reflection, please first attempt the second suggestion from my above post (https://documentation.red-gate.com/sp/sql-code-formatting-and-styles/updating-style-files-from-before-version-10-5) before attempting a full reinstall of SQL Prompt.
Thanks

Hi @Dan_J,
thanks for your suggestions.
I did an uninstall and re-install and checked also that there are no snippets with the same name. However snippets are still not migrated properly. I dropped the files also one more time into the snipped location but still they are not converted, only moved to backup. -
Hi @TimF
Thanks for your update on this, I'm sorry the suggestions have not resolved this issue for you!Would you be happy to provide a couple of the snippet files that are not converting so that I can attempt to convert them on my side? If so, would you like me contacting you directly from the ticket we have created for this issue so that you can provide these files privately?

@Dan_J
yes that would be fine.

out of 73 snippets only 10 were automatically converted. No errors are showing.
How can I check whats the issue on the 63 snippets? Is there a dedicated conversion tool which outputs more details?
Kind regards,
Tim
