Help research Git branching models for databases!

Hello,

We are working on generating more content and guidance for folks regarding Git branching and merging strategies.

If you are currently using Git with databases, it would be great to learn about your experiences --- things like what branching strategy you currently use (if any), what is working well, what your pain points are, etc.

I'm hoping for direct user stories from folks who are using Git frequently to check in changes. (In other words, not proof-of-concept work -- that's valuable too! Just hoping to hear from folks who are using Git with databases "in anger" for this.)

I would like to use some of this research for public posts, but you prefer your info to only be used anonymously then that is totally OK.

If you have someone to refer for this, that's welcome too. Get in touch with me anytime at kendra.little@red-gate.com.

Thanks much,
Kendra

I’d be happy to help. We use Git exclusively and train clients on Git and branching strategies.

Kendra, sorry haven't been in the forums for a bit.  We do branching already as part of our SDLC let me know how my team can help.

I've worked with branches and forks.  I have found it is as much about the way in which source control is configured and the processes around it as it is specifically about the branching/forking itself.
I'm happy to put some notes together though I suspect you'll learn more from my ignorance than my knowledge.
