SQL Source Control

Given an existing TFS GIT source control repository, if SQL Source control is pointed to this repo for a database (using local database dev model) will it capture all the existing history & simply append to it for furture check-ins or will it ignore that & all future check ins will show history from that point on?

    Revision history is kept on the repository so it will show the full history.

    from SSMS and it is not responding at all!
    click and nothing happens ..no message ..nothing. tried to uninstall reboot and install reboot ..no avail??
