Ignore listed errors option

I can't seem to figure out how to get this option to work for me.  Not sure if I am just not doing it right or if what I want to do is not possible.  I have the following 2 errors that come up often: "Adding a value to a 'datetime' column caused an overflow" and "String or binary data would be truncated". For either of these errors, there may be a small percentage of rows that would cause the problem.  Any advice or examples would be appreciated.
