Does SQL Compare Use MSSQL cmdshell?

Our security group noticed MSSQL cmdshell traffic between our stage and production environments and we are trying to figure out where it's coming from. We are using SQL Compare and SQL Data Compare between those two environments. Does either tool use MSSQL cmdshell as part of the comparison process?

    Our development team has confirmed neither SQL Compare nor SQL Data Compare uses xp_cmdshell.
