First issue is backup seems too big to load at 28 Gb. Second issue those that do load have error uses a compression format that is not supported

Hi @gjw regarding the first issue, is it more of a performance issue with loading really slow? regarding the second, have you taken a look at the documentation here that describes some of the issues using backup as a source? https://documentation.red-gate.com/sdc/working-with-other-data-sources/working-with-backups

You can't compare compressed backups from SQL Server 2012 or later. - when is this going to be fixed kind of makes this function of the tool uesless
