FoRG Program: 2019 highlights and looking ahead to 2020

Hello Friends,

With the end of the year rapidly approaching, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for a wonderful year in the Friends of Redgate program. This has been my first full year coordinating the program and I've enjoyed working with you all to support database professionals across the world. Everyone at Redgate is hugely grateful for all your hard work and support.

In this post, I will be sharing the highlights from 2019 and giving an update of what's to come in 2020.

2019 Friends of Redgate Program Highlights

We have worked together to create the following educational content for the community:
  • Speaker sessions (At SQL in the City Summit, our Think and Drink Series and user groups). Speakers and panellists included: Hamish Watson, Ike Ellis, Brian Randell, Alex Yates, Annette Allen, Neil Hambly, John Sterrett, Warwick Rudd, Esteban Garcia, Chris Hyde, Joshua Higginbotham, Josh Smith, Rob Richardson, and Mindy Curnutt.
  • Virtual events (webinars, SQL in the City Streamed and Data Privacy Week with PASS). Presenters included Chris Yates, Hamish Watson, Annette Allen, Kellyn Pot'Vin-Gorman, John Sterrett, Alex Yates, Brian Kelley, and Martin Catherall.
  • Articles and blogs (Published on Simple Talk and Product Learning). Authors included Phil Factor, Louis Davidson, Alessandro Alpi, John Morehouse, Ben Weissman, Adam Hafner, Samir Behara, Kellyn Pot'Vin-Gorman, Robert Cain, Brian Kelley, and Rodney Landrum. Plus, there's more in the pipeline!
Plus, you've helped us to shape the future of Redgate products, through:
  • Beta testing (SQL Data Catalog and the SQL Change Automation in SSMS add-in). Participants included Joshua Higginbotham, Josh Smith, Rich Dudley, Rob Richardson, Ben Weissman, and Ike Ellis.
  • Research Calls - so many of you have participated in research calls that there are too many examples to list!
And helped us to spread the word about Redgate through:
  • Social media mentions
  • Speaker sessions
  • Photos
  • Referrals and recommendations, and much more!
This is just the highlights reel of 2019 - you've helped us in lots more ways. Thank you again for all your hard work and support   >:O

As well as working together, we also had fun together at the SQL Bits drinks and at the Friends of Redgate dinner in Seattle.

2020 Friends of Redgate Program Update

We're currently reviewing the Friends of Redgate program and looking at ways that we can make the experience even better for you. As a result, we'll be kicking off the 2020 Friends of Redgate Program in January and will send communications to you all in the New Year. So, hold tight and watch this space for details on the 2020 Friends of Redgate Program!

If you have any suggestions for what you'd like to see in the 2020 program, please let me know below or email me on friends@red-gate.com.

Wishing you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Cheers,

Roseanna

Roseanna, I have noticed that some of my Redgate FoRG licenses are expiring on January 1, 2020. Is there a way I can get them extended until you make it through the process of 2020 renewals to see if I make the bar again for next year?

    Hi @TheSQLGuru,

I've put a request in to extend the support on your licenses. Your licenses should be updated within the next few days.

    Thanks,

    Roseanna

After joining Microsoft on January, I haven't been able to do much more than tweeting Redgate news. :(

    Hi @RoseannaW.

I'm in the same situation as @TheSQLGuru. My licenses expired on Jan 1, 2020. Could I get an extension until the program renews and see if I make it?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi @jrguay and @TheSQLGuru,

Please can you email me with the details of which licenses need updating (if you could include the serial numbers, that would be great) and I'll extend the support for you.

    Thanks,

    Roseanna
