Can you please post this suggestion on our user voice forum https://redgate.uservoice.com/forums/94413-sql-prompt
-
@Tianjiao_Li this sounds to me more than a bug rather than suggestion. It worked OK previously, something happened.
-
Do you happen to remember the previously working version number?
Thanks. -
nope, but I'm doing all updates straight away and it was working a month ago.
-
This is an example. Running on different instances, but the databases are more or less the same (99%). The automatically picked up object exists on both instances.

The order in which suggestions are listed depends on the context of your query. More information can be found https://documentation.red-gate.com/sp9/speeding-up-your-queries/inserting-suggestions-into-your-code

@sdks Can you turn off 'Show most recently used suggestions at the top of the list' which is new feature turned on by default? Does it help?
-
that helped

I don't want to turn that setting off! It is useful to see most recent suggestions.
But in case of the entered string matches a snippet then the snippet should be the first.
Why I need to scroll or search my snippet in the list?
Snippets should not work this way, but should provide a fast and convenient tool to enter text. -
Hi @wdg
We've recently introduced "Ranked Suggestions" in SQL Prompt 9.5.21, which puts snippets to the top if it's an exact match with what you've typed. Please don't hesitate to get it touch if you're still having issues on that version.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi @TomW,
I use version 9.5.23 and just made a screenshot similar to sdks's at the top. (Not so nice though):
It can be clearly seen that I entered a snippet ("sst") and is listed as the second item in the recommendations list despite it has an exact matched snippet.

@wdg
Thanks for the screenshot.
I've reproduced it and the development team is investigating it now.
I'll keep here posted. -
@wdg
The fix is shipped in 10.0.3 so please upgrade when you can.

I expect to snippets be the first option when you type. For example here after hitting "d" then TAB it is expected that snippet would be inserted instead of suggested object.
